What Reddit Says

Stable Diffusion

75% positive

r/StableDiffusion is one of the most active AI art communities. Users love the freedom and customization. Complaints center on the learning curve and Stability AI's business direction. ComfyUI and Automatic1111 are the dominant interfaces.

SD with ComfyUI and custom LoRAs is unbeatable for specific styles. Nothing else gives you this level of control. The learning curve is worth it.
r/StableDiffusion·2876 upvotes
If you have an RTX 4070 or better, running SD locally is free and unlimited. Best value in AI image generation, period.

Midjourney

80% positive

Reddit artists and designers overwhelmingly praise Midjourney's aesthetic quality. The Discord workflow is the main complaint, though the new web app is helping. V7 is considered a major leap forward.

V7 is a massive upgrade. Text rendering actually works now and the prompt adherence is so much better. Still nothing touches MJ for pure aesthetics.

I use DALL-E for quick concepts and Midjourney for final renders. MJ just has that 'look' that clients love.
